How Long Does It Take to Complete NVQ LVL 3 HCA Qualification?

The time it takes to become a healthcare assistant depends on several factors. While we can offer an estimated timeline for completing the NVQ Level 3  qualification, the duration to secure and start a role as a Healthcare Assistant in Lagos may vary.

For the qualification itself, you have 4 months to complete the NVQ Level 3 Care Skills and Care of the Older Person course. Completing the entire NVQ Level 3 Major Award, which some employers, such as those in HSE settings, may require, typically takes up to 4- 5 months. However, these online health care assistant courses can often be finished more quickly depending on how much time you can dedicate to your studies.

Additionally, some employers might allow you to work while you’re still pursuing the Care Skills and Care of the Older Person Minor Award. Nevertheless, we encourage learners to enrol in the full NVQ Level 3  Healthcare Assistant Diploma Program. Doing so can provide additional benefits, such as access to a wider range of work settings, incremental pay increases, and opportunities for career advancement.

Although it’s difficult to predict exactly how long it might take to secure a job, healthcare assistants are in high demand globally and the rate of attrition is almost zero. Therefore, if you meet the qualifications outlined in job postings, finding a position should happen within a reasonable time frame. Keep in mind that the start date after securing a job may vary depending on the employer’s schedule and the employee’s choice.
