My Journey to Becoming a Mental Health First Aider at CLI College

Hi everyone, My name is Dr. Grace Pam! I’m a lecturer, family’s mental health and well-being counsellor, administrator, and an advocate for women’s and girls’ issues.

Mental health has always been a personal interest of mine. I gained a general understanding of human psychology in this area through research and self-study. However, addiction was a blind spot for me when I came across the Mental Health & Addiction First Aider program at CLI College. The timing was perfect as I wanted to deepen my knowledge and pursue a formal certification. Plus, the program’s affordability was incredible!

Before the program, I felt somewhat like a novice venturing into unfamiliar territory. But the course completely changed that.  I gained a much more detailed and professional perspective on various mental health conditions.

The program also tackled addiction in a very insightful way. It helped me understand how anyone can be susceptible, fostering empathy for those struggling.

The entire learning experience at CLI College was fantastic! The instructors presented the material in a comprehensive and user-friendly way. Despite being a virtual program, there was a strong sense of community, and I felt like we were all learning together.

Why You Should Consider This Program

Would I recommend this program? Absolutely!  Even if you’re simply seeking a better understanding of yourself and mental health in general, this course is invaluable.  After all, a society thrives when its people are healthy and whole.

If you’re interested in learning more about mental health and addiction, I highly encourage you to check out the Mental Health & Addiction First Aider program at CLI College.
